My Oral Village announces the publication of Road Signs for Digital Payments, Stage 2, an account of the latest work in our collaboration with Taler Systems SA, funded by the NL Net Foundation. With the capable support of the New Salone Woman Organization and the New Salone Design Company, our implementing partners in Sierra Leone, we successfully developed and tested three key OIM features for GNU Taler: a user ‘sandbox’ to support learning the interface with no money at risk, an account history utility that may be the first such structured financial tool unschooled adults have ever been able to use, and a merchant payment system for interaction with shop-keepers.
